CO2 REGULATORS

Picture of CO2 supplies

A CO2 regulator is necessary to bring high pressure CO2 gas down to the lower pressure that is needed by BB cannons.

SWAMPWORKS MFG's brass CO2 regulator comes in two styles and in pressure ratings of 140 or 100 psi output. Our standard brass CO2 regulator weighs approx. 12.5 ounces. Our reduced wt. regulator has had excess metal removed for weight reduction on smaller models. It weighs in at approx. 6.5 ounces. Unless otherwise specified, all ships use the standard wt. model.

Note: 140 psi output is typically used in the IR/CWCC.

CO2 DELIVERY SYSTEMS

Picture of CO2 supplies
Left to right; Std. weight CO2 regulator, 12 gram disposable capsule and adapter, 56 gram (2 oz.) capsule and adapter, and 7.0 oz and 3.5 oz refillable bottles.

SWAMPWORKS MFG. offers three different CO2 delivery systems for ships in the hobby of RC Model Warship Combat.

  1. 12 gram disposable capsule adapter. 12 gram capsules are available at any sporting goods outlet and each carries CO2 gas to fire approx. 50 BBs. For ships carrying no more than one BB cannon, i.e. Class 1 or some Class 2 ships.
  2. 56 gram (2 oz.) disposable capsule adapter. Marine surplus two oz. CO2 capsules are available from SWAMPWORKS MFG. Each capsule carries enough CO2 gas to fire approx. 200 BBs. For ships with two or three BB cannons, i.e. Class 2, 3, or 4 ships.
  3. 3.5 oz and 7.0 oz. refillable bottles. These bottles may be filled at paintball game shops, fire extinguisher shops, industrial gas suppliers or at any warship combat contest where the host is supplying CO2. You may fill your own bottles if you have a small digital scale, a "fill station", and a CO2 supply tank. If filled properly a 3.5 oz. bottle will fire approx. 300-350 BBs per fill, a 7.0 oz. bottle will fire approx. 600 per fill. The 3.5 oz bottles are for ships carrying 2 to 4 BB cannons, the 7.0 oz. is for ships carrying 4 or more.

Note: Adapters and bottles screw directly into the CO2 pressure regulator "hand tight" without the need for tools.

BB CANNONS

Picture of cannon assys

Above: Typical two cannon system pack, includes two BB cannons, all necessary hoses, valves, connectors, gaskets, cannon loader, safety goggles, and instructions.

What separates the true combat model warship from all the rest !

To turn your 1/144 scale cruiser, battlecruiser, or battleship into a real "combat" model warship you will need to install a BB cannon system, CO2 regulator, and matching pressure delivery system.

SWAMPWORKS offers the traditional O-ring style breech which requires frequent adjustment (or "tweaking" as it is called) to maintain correct firing velocity. We also offer the new style Tube-breech which is an "install and forget" cannon that needs no subsequent "tweaking".

BB cannons and system parts may be purchased seperately or as pre-packed systems. BB preceding a package signifies O-ring breech cannons, BT signifies tube breech cannons.

System packages available are:

  • BTSYST-2A. 2 cannon system for Houston, Exeter, & Georges Leygues
  • BTSYST-2B. 2 cannon system for Brooklyn & Myoko.
  • BTSYST-2.5. 2 cannon system for Lutzow, (3-1/2 units)
  • BTSYST-3A 3 cannon system for Invincible and Moltke BTSYST-3B 3 cannon system for South Carolina
  • BTSYST-4.0. 4 cannon system for Class 6 (6 units)
  • BTSYST-4.5. 4 cannon system for Class 6 (6-1/2 units)
  • BTSYST-5.0. 5 cannon system for Clas 6 (6 units)
  • BTSYST-5.5. 5 cannon system for Class 6 (6-1/2 units)

(systems 5.5 and 5.0 include actuator system allowing two cannons to fire simultaneously from one turret).

Note: Only Tube Breech systems are listed above.

Note: 2 and 3 cannon systems require only one radio channel and servo to operate the system. 4 and 5 cannon systems require two radio channels and two servos for operational control.

Call for info about custom systems to fit your particular model.

SAFETY FIRST !! Approved eye protection is required for all participants and spectators at any time and place that BB cannons are being operated. See back page of this catalog for safety, liability, and warranty information.
